L. Huang Atelier Digital Gallery

L. Huang Atelier is a multilingual digital-gallery experience for presenting artworks through memory, place, emotion, and story. The project combines an artwork-first public site, guided interpretation, archive search, collector inquiry flows, and a bridge to a virtual gallery so visitors can move from looking to understanding to collecting without losing the quiet encounter with the work.

Public-facing gallery experience with collections, layered interpretation, artwork browsing, and collector actions.

Project Goal

Create a public digital atelier that treats art discovery as a guided conversation, not a flat image wall. The site invites visitors to look first, then open context, process notes, questions, and collector actions only when they are ready.

My Contribution

Designed and implemented the product structure, static gallery frontend, multilingual interaction model, artwork data flow, guided-tour behavior, inquiry surfaces, and backend/API architecture used for staff and AI-assisted experiences.

Public-Safe Scope

This introduction is based on the neighboring project folder and live public behavior. It intentionally avoids private credentials, local runtime state, unpublished database contents, and operational secrets.

Capabilities Built

  • Multilingual public site in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
  • Collection-led gallery navigation for travel memories, stage impressions, objects, characters, and small works.
  • Artwork modal with optional interpretation layers: what to notice, context, process, and reflective questions.
  • Guided-route system that can lead visitors by theme, mood, series, and collector intent.
  • Staff/admin and API foundation for authenticated management, provider routing, auditability, TTS/ASR, and AI guide replies.
  • Community-facing Sense Agent concept for privacy-preserving signage, derived perception signals, conversation support, and human handoff patterns.

Technical Shape

Frontend Static public gallery with dedicated site CSS/JS, structured artwork data, route data, and responsive gallery interactions.
Backend Python API gateway for staff access, model-provider routing, usage/audit records, and AI-assisted guide or community-agent responses.
Operations Apache reverse proxy deployment, same-origin API routing, local development proxying, and self-hosted AI/perception support paths.

Design Principle

The product deliberately keeps explanation optional. It uses AI and structured interaction to deepen the encounter, while protecting the human pace of looking, feeling, asking, and deciding.

Why It Matters

The project turns a personal artwork archive into a durable digital experience: part gallery, part guided visit, part collector relationship system, and part testbed for responsible multimodal AI interaction.
